Greetings to all from Empire Events’ Owner, Zuriash Akelu.
Welcome to Empire Events Inc. My journey in this industry dates-back to 2005 when I left the travel agency that I had been working for to join my first hospitality industry firm at Sensational Servers. There I found my passion. Being new to the industry, Sensational Servers has helped me to pursue this profession. Through the years, I had been promoted as a staff supervisor, shortly after I joined other businesses in the firm as a supervisor in charge of events. Subsequently, I operated as Cafeteria Unit Manager for over five years with Compass Group Canada at Humber College, South Compass Toronto, and then I had the opportunity to work as a V.I.P. food and beverage supervisor at Molson Canadian Hockey House during the Canadian Winter Olympic Games in 2010.
After working for various reputed companies and positions I had been earning enormous amount of experience and networks. It was time to start my own business.
In April 2012, Empire Events was born as a small start-up providing servers to private parties. Since then our business has grown to event planning, catering, bar service, full decoration, floral design, party rentals and staging for your event of any size. With over 30 active, trained and positive teams, we have earned recognitions from Canada’s best event directory; the ‘Event Source’ receiving Toronto’s Best Choice Award of 2017 & 2018 for earning the best reviews and service excellence. Our Maharani’s Wedding hosted has also become the best wedding of the year 2017 by Platinum Vendors.
